First full day on the ship. Got up a little before 7 and we met for breakfast around 8:00. I'm trying to eat food I wouldn't normally eat, so I tried lox on a bagel. Actually pretty good.
Circular main buffet, with lots of substations

Off to the solarium which is the indoor pool for adults only. Got a watermelon mint lemonade, which is quite refreshing. The sisters came and and went a few times while I held down the fort.
We attended a shopping “seminar” with an excitable host and some raffles--basically pointing us to the stores where the ship gets a kickback.
Off to brunch--granola parfait, wedge salad, broccoli soup, charcuterie, French toast, quesadillas, a “floating island”, chocolate custard, and carrot cake. We're all raving over the Argentine butter at the meals--Amy prefers it over her native (Wisconsin) stuff.

Ahh, the BUTTER!!!
We spent the afternoon out on the deck--reading, dozing, drinking, snacking. The weather was perfect.

It was “Formal Night”, so we cleaned up for dinner.
It’s a doggie—I think.
Back to the “My Fair Lady” main dining room. French onion soup, squash soup, escargot (we all tried it), breaded salmon, beef tenderloin, chicken cordon Bleu, and seafood linguini. Dessert was apple cobbler and creme brulee.
And now I can say I’ve had escargot (twice), and never need to have it again.
As we got up from dinner, Mindy bumped into the table and the waiter was convinced that he had somehow cost her to trip. He hugged her and said that he reminded her of his grandmother (ironically, the only one of the three sisters who is not a grandmother).
More shopping, then the production show--”Can't Stop the Rock”. Aspiring singers and dancers blow through pop and rock standards from films. The soloists were impressive--the technical cues not so much. We dragged ourselves to our rooms after the performance.
The ladies found a nice seating area in the back (so we could sneak out if needed).
Tomorrow, Costa Maya!
